In January, Henrico Schools will make adjustments to curbside meal service

Distribution at 12 schools will be consolidated with nearby sites

Henrico, Va. Dec. 16, 2020 — Henrico County Public Schools will consolidate curbside meals distribution at 12 schools with lower participation rates and merge service at those facilities with nearby schools, effective Monday, Jan. 4.

Each of the discontinued sites is three miles or less from an alternate site with curbside meal service. Families aren’t limited by these sites, however, and can choose to pick up school meals at any other HCPS school. The last day for curbside pickup service at the 12 sites will be Thursday, Dec. 17. Neighborhood meals distribution at bus-stop sites will continue unchanged. A list of alternative sites is below:

HCPS’ School Nutrition Services Department has answered the challenge of a highly unusual school year by distributing free breakfasts and lunches to students using a two-pronged system — free curbside pick-up service at HCPS schools, and teaming with HCPS Pupil Transportation Services to distribute free meals directly to 61 stops in Henrico County neighborhoods, using school buses. See an online map of school and bus stop distribution sites by going to https://tinyurl.com/HCPSMealsSites.
